Business cards app for Android released by NewSoft.

NewSoft, a provider of productivity-enhancing software, said today that it has introduced a new app that enables Android phone users to capture and manage business cards.

Presto! BizCard for Android offers easy image capture combined with business card contact management.

BizCard stores and manages all the data that is needed from the business card, converting it into a contact list. PacketVideo Launches OpenCore 2.0 for Android Platform

PacketVideo (PV) has announced the release of OpenCore 2.0, the first upgrade to its OpenCore multimedia sub-system for Android.

OpenCore provides the media features for device development and enables playing and streaming of standard formats, and recording of images and video. OpenCore 2.0 expands upon PV's initial offering, including the release of a video telephony engine, OpenMAX encoding support and integration of OpenMAX cores.
"The real pivot in the industry that accelerated with the introduction of Android is the move toward openness - in networks, in platforms and in services," said Osama Alshaykh, CTO, PV. Sourcenext to Sell Packaged Android Applications

Sourcenext Corporation of Tokyo announced that it plans to begin sales of self-developed packaged Android applications.

According to a release, these applications, which will be released under the series title, Android Gensen (Selected) Application, are expected to be sold at retail stores throughout Japan.
In the initial launch in September, Sourcenext plans to release 10 titles, which include products developed by Sourcenext and also other Android applications developed by other software companies. Sourcenext has a goal to continue to expand its partnerships with other companies and to broaden the product line-up to over 100 titles in the next three years.

By bringing the packaged versions of the applications to retail stores, Sourcenext aims to allow users to purchase the products in an easier and more convenient way. Users will be able to choose the products they want like any other commodity, and would also be able to install the applications with a manual. Each packaged product also has a serial number for user registration and a printed starter's guide which makes it friendly for even Android beginners and solves many of the issues that accompany buying the download versions of the product online.

MicroFinancial Releases New Android App

MicroFinancial, a financial intermediary specializing in vendor- based leasing and finance programs for microticket transactions, announced the release of a new Android App.

According to MicroFinancial, this application will provide mobile access to TimePayment Direct, the proprietary multi-level scoring model of the company's subsidiary, TimePayment Corporation (TPC), and will be available free to all qualified vendors and brokers of TPC through the Android Market.
With the introduction of the Android App, TPC's vendors and brokers will now have four different ways in which to access TimePayment Direct to submit and process credit applications (Android, iPhone, iPad and computer).

This new application means that TimePayment Direct will be with vendors and brokers anywhere they are, giving them the ability to enter applications, receive credit decisions, and track the status of all of their transactions with TPC Direct.
